My girlfriend, Sue, gave me Joshua about 12 years ago and said I would love it. I picked it up 5 years later and proceeded to read every one of Father Girzone's Joshua novels. They are heart warming stories about how Jesus would respond to serious world issues, if he were walking amngst us today. They are beautiful, gentle and filled with common sense resolutions that embrace love, grace, mercy and intelligence. I think they are a must read and I doubt anyone will regret reading these beautiful books.

This was a great idea. How would the appearance of Christ affect those around him. At first it seemed as though the book would be successful in portraying this. The author though would have been well served with a better editor. He needed to eliminate the word "simple" from his vocabulary as it appeared on practically every page. I loved the idea, saw the movie and was hoping the book (as is usually the case) was better. I'm sorry to say it fell short.

I found Joshua to be a very good read and have started to read another book called Joshua in the city. The book gave a very different idea on how to observe ones religious outlook. The basic beliefs of the christian community as espoused by Christ should be observed by all who call themselves a true christian. We should all believe as Joshua did in the book and try to live our lives as such.
I would recomend this book .

There isn't another book that I can honestly say captured me in like this one. I began my walk with God last June and this book has only helped me put a Christian Lifestyle into perspective. I couldn't recommend this book anymore. Please, whether or not you have a relationship with God..it is a must read!!! I am actually thinking about reading it a second time. There is so much useful information that fits into this tiny book. It's a life changer. God Bless You ;)

Considering that the book was written from a 1980's perspective and it was a first novel, I thought it was quite an easy read. The book was assigned to our adult book club in a Roman Catholic Church and generated some lively discussion. I think the portrayal of Christ was done well and the ending generated a lot of discussion. I recommend it for all ages above 12.
